Well my beloved daughter wanted to be a vampire for halloween this year. So she dove in my bag of "clothes I won't get rid of" and found a old bridesmaid dress. So that was the base.
This was a blast to do except for a few things. Try fitting a women's size 6 dress to a kids size 12. Blah! That was a pain. Then we had the requests...No bustle...She didn't want a big butt and she has stairs at her school....so it had to be sized so she wouldn't trip and nobody would trip her.
The materials:
Bridesmaid dress.... Salvage went to the hat.
Old "Lace" poncho....Used for hat, veil, and chocker
Sheer shirt...for the jacket
Posterboard pieces that were too big for me to part with.
The only that was new that was purchased was the ribbon and button.
Here she is:

Holding her Hell Hound:

The materials:
shirt I tailored to a jacket

The dress

scarey poncho.Oooooo

Yes the costume is great, and the pic of her holding the hellhound is priceless.

Very creative tailoring on the shirt/jacket and dress. It is scaled down to her size just perfect. And awesome styling on the hat/necklace!
