Wouldn't I be a great spokesperson for things?

I decided I wanted to make a Lego minifig costume based off of this post on Make: http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2006/10/homemade_shaun_of_the_dea.html. He has some more pictures in his flickr account and luckily had pictures of the inside of his costume which helped us figure out the arms.

I decided to go as a Nashville Predators player. I'm fully encased in the costume.

An action shot of me moving the arms up:

And the back of the costume:

One of the Preds players is David Legwand. My husband came up with calling my minifig Legowand. We wanted people to not just see the 11 and Legowand and miss the "o". So I put a dash in the name. The dash is a painted Lego brick.

It's made of styrofoam (head), foam core (chest), mailing tubes (arms) with PVC piping to control movement inside, and polyurethane foam for the legs held up by some SWEET rainbow suspenders my dad had from the 70's.

Thanks! I went to the Predators costume contest before the game tonight and got first place in the adult contest! I won a $500 gift card to Best Buy and got to go out on the ice during the 2nd intermission.

People from the front office also tracked me down and want me to wear the costume to the players practice on Monday and I'll get to meet David Legwand! So it's turned out FANTASTIC!
