Well, looks like I get to start us out this week!  I don't have any new yarns, but I DO have new fiber!  So, here we are:

Dyed up for the following bags.

Dyed up for the following bags.

Also dyed for the following bags.

Dyed for the following bags, too.

Okay, this is the first of 5 colorways.  I got a bunch of fun goodies together and I mixed them all up and put them in a bag and I call them my "Fiber Porn Grab-and-Spin [FPGS] Bags."  They're a lot like batts in that there are lots of fun things and texture mixed together, but they allow for more control over which pieces go where.  I spun this yarn from an experimental grab bag I made last fall:

So.  A couple more of the colorways:

Hooray!  Can't wait to see what you've all got in store! Cheesy

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot!  I also carded up some superwash/nylon blends with socks in mind.

I don't have anything this week - too busy settling in after returning from Japan.

A few weeks ago, I've been appointed the modding role for the spinning board.
I'm hoping to get to know more of you, and tidy things up a bit.
Edit the stickies, initiate more features, update the "Fiber Fridays" sticky thread with links and guidelines etc.
But I don't want to start chopping and changing the board without hearing from you all first.

I've started this thread for discussion
https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=325543.0
- Say hi, and introduce yourself
- what would you like to see happen in the spinning section
It's your board, so what would you like?

...sorry to hijack, but I do want everyone to take a peek at this thread and I know some people only drop by to check out the Fiber Friday thread.

Finished off a two ply natural colored Jacob for socks for DH, no pictures yet.

Got laid off from work yesterday so I'll have a bit more time for fibering while job hunting.

Freestyle said she did some dyeing this week.  Come on gal, you're holding out on us!!

My first attempts at hand dying! I haven't named these yet. 100% Punta wool.

My favorite colors, blues and greens:

Some fun fall colors- I really liked how these blended together to make additional complementary colors:

Batts!

OOO I also love the Grab-and-Spin bags. I get bored spinning a lot of the same old thing over and over. I think that might be something fun to make for myself... I have been sick most of the week so I have a pic of partial spun batt I got from my swap pal Faren and so far its a dream. Lots of llama in it and just a hint of color that blens well with the natural colors. Also, I received a sweet bag of goodness from Royalfibers.com.....Guanaco..nice stuff. I just got the Interweave drafting video and long draw is seeming much better after the bicycle theory- the faster you go the easy not to wreck.. So, I will practice on something not 30 bucks an ounce and then try it out...

My spindle is a Golding's King Wood with the bronze ring (man what a great tool)
The guanaco is actually a little lighter than it looks here, more like coffee with a lot of milk in it.  Hope everyone has a great Boo Day

PS freestyle- i am in LOVE with that second braid! I'd probably have that in a bowl for looks. OO plyed with natural brown wool would look hot too- or black..
