This is the dress that I made to wear to my barbecue for my 22nd birthday last week.  The pattern I used is called the Macaron from Colette Patterns.  If you have never used a Colette pattern I highly recommend you give them a go.  They are so easy to use.  The instructions are perfect and the pattern pieces fit together so easily.  It was the least stressful clothing item I have made.  And that is saying something considering it was my first time doing an invisible zip and it is fully lined.

I love the ties on the dress.  They looked a bit funny tied in a bow so I just tied them in a knot.

Comments and Criticisms welcome!

You look so lovely!  Nice and festive!  Is the lining part of the pattern or did you just add it?

Hope you had a wonderful birthday!!

Wow! Thanks for all the comments guys! They are all so nice.

This is only the 2nd pattern I have ever used. My first experience with a pattern like yours was a nightmare.  These patterns are definately a lot easier to follow.

Is the lining part of the pattern or did you just add it?

The lining is part of the dress.  The pattern comes with full instructions on how to make and insert the lining as well.  I don't think I could have done it otherwise because I have never done lining before.
