I normally hang out on the needlework boards, but my son and I made this last week and he's very proud of it.

I am by no means a stuffie, plushie or toy maker, so gently constructive criticism and tips for next time will be most appreciated!

Malcolm is taking HS Chemistry this fall, and each year when the study 'moles' (units of measurement for molecules), their teachers let them create toy animal 'moles' for extra credit and theme them any way they like.  Malcolm loves steam trains, so this is his idea; Molesy Jones:

He is fake fur, felt, a little pink corduroy, part of a bandana, paint marker & stuffed with recycled dryer sheets.  I did most of the sewing, Malcolm did the paint stripes and put him all together.

This is Molesy with my Malcolm on the way to school last Friday.

I made a mole out of a sock when I was in high school. You guys did a great job. Good to see I wasn't the only one who had to go through mole day.

That's adorable!  You both did a lovely job. My HS chem teacher did the same thing. I wonder if they all got together and decided this. I baked a cake shaped like a mole.

I remember having to dress up a stuffed mole for chem class!  Yours turned out wonderfully!

I think it's great that he would sew a mole! And I love that he gave him a personality and a name. Great job! Keep up the fun and creative attitude!

He is so cute! It looks like y'all had fun with him.

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

This is cute! I wish I'd had one in HS. I remember learning about mols. I had such a hard time. my girlfriends and I even made up songs to try to help us remember. I'm sure we'd have done much better if we had an actual toy mole to help us focus! Good job.
