These were a pair of ugly brown shoes I bought 5 years ago and NEVER wore. Tomorrow is my birthday and I decided I needed birthday shoes. I pulled these out of my closet, painted them with blue acrylic paint, added martha stewart glitter on the sides, mod podged the whole thing, added the dark blue ribbon and ta-da! BIRTHDAY SHOES. I think my Brilliant Blues could give Dorothy's Ruby Red's a run for their money haha

questions and comments always welcome Smiley

AWESOME!!!!!  I totally LOVE the blue!  How did they stand up to wear and tear so far?

Happy Birthday BTW!

Good job, those are really pretty and  I love the color Smiley.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

Thanks everyone!!! Also thanks for the happy birthday!

Unfortunately it was POURING rain the night I wore them and the mod podge still needed to set a little more. They held up really well though with only the loss of the beads in the center and the inside paint fused to my tights. I'm going to touch them up a bit, re-mod podge and they should be good to go!

PS - eaon2002, you should totally make a pair in pink - that would be awesome.

So you used regular acrylic paint, glitter and modpodge on these?  Do you think that would work on leather?  I have a pair of black heel that are so comfortable but the leather (well, now that I said that I'm not even sure it is leather, but I don't know what it is, either...) anyway, it's wearing off all over them.  I really want to recover them.  Any thoughts?
