That is absolutely incredible.  I love the concept, and the way you actualized it.

Pretty things are often deadly...the ocean, fire, tigers, and now cancer cells.

A very well-thought out, provocative piece.  Thank you so much for sharing this.

Wow, that looks amazing! Pretty and interesting.

(reading through some of the comments...maybe for a giant sized one someone could crochet the main piece in chenille or Lion Brand Suede with bobbles and then do the hand embroidery?)

That is beautiful! All those knots must've required much perseverance.

AMAZING! You did a wonderful job. The concept has a lot more to it than a breast with a lump.
I love the "deceptive beauty" you added. You really made me think about what ugly cells could be hiding inside me. Its so true that society looks at young firm breasts as more beautiful no matter how healthy they are inside.
Truely a work of art.

thank you so much everyone! it makes me so happy that others can see what i was getting at with it.

maremare, crochet bobbles is totally an idea! the other thing i was originally thinking, but i couldn't find 100% wool by the metre in the colour i wanted, was to get wool and tied things into it, then full it. i've seen scarves like that, and i think if you have a variety of sizes of things to tie into it, it could be really neat looking, and still have the affect of the various cell shapes. the scarves use marbles, i think, which would be too uniform for this.

Wow, what a great idea!  I don't think I could have gone from that photo to your creation.  It took a lot of creativity and talent.  It's ironic that something so beautiful could be so deadly.  This piece is just amazing.  Wow....sorry I'm speechless!!!
