It's difficult to go wrong with such a charming subject, isn't it?  Smiley

Professional or not, you did a remarkable job of choosing the subject matter.  The pictures could not have been cuter (one was a tear jerker it was too precious).  Those will always be priceless to that lucky family.

Those are beautiful.  I really like how you set up the first 2.

1,3, 5 and 6 are AMAZING!! I didn't read all the replies but I'm sure someone already said this - you SHOULD be doing this as a profession!  I got my daughter's pictures taken professionally when she was two months old, and the pose you chose for #3 is the exact one he used for my favorite out of the entire shoot we did.

On another note, I think black and white pictures are the most beautiful thing ever.  This makes me want to line my babies up and get the camera out.  Thanks for the ideas!

Am taking a crafting/posting hiatus and formally withdrawing from all the CAL's I was in.  Need time to recharge and rewire.  But, I am still lurking and loving you guys like crazy, keep posting the amazing projects!!!  You all rock!

What an amazing gift. You did a great job, I love them all. When I first set my eyes on this post I thought of you.

I second the person who hates the standard commercial portraits. I refuse to buy school pics, I take or have family members take pics of my kids. The pictures have much more personality and look so much better. As my kids are older, I like to use natural or urban settings outside. I do like the way the light plays on the blue background.

sweets, if you hadn't said you weren't a professional, I never would have guessed. I just had a professional photographer do a photo session for my 4 month old niece (and the rest of the family, but who cares about them when there's a new baby!) and many of your photos turned out just as nice as hers.

My fave is the first one with the towels. The contrast with the white towels and black background is amazing. And the yellow ducky with the rest of the photo in b&w is precious. I love all the other ones, too.

I think my only "suggestion" is that while I love the one of the baby cradled in the arm, I'm wondering if maybe there's too much black space? I wonder if that one may have looked better as a landscape photo, rather than a vertical one. I'm not sure (and I'm definitely not a professional), but that's really the only constructive criticism I could think to offer.  Wink

Otherwise, you did a great job with the lighting and a superb job of catching the baby's expressions.
