After a few years of store-bought princess costumes, I finally got my daughter to agree to let her crafty mommy make her a costume.  I present to you...my little skunk.

I'm going to add a couple of black elastic straps to the tail that she can put around her arms to help her tail stay up without totally weighing down the hoodie.

The costume...black hooded sweatshirt with white fur trim sewn on for the stripe that continues all the way down the back.  The tail and ears are extra fuzzy black grizzly fur that I found at Jo-Ann with the white fur trim.  It really looks like skunk fur, although I don't know if a real skunk would shed this much in my house!

Idea from Family Fun magazine http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/skunk-662216/.

That's adorable!  My mom used to make all our Halloween costumes, so I firmly believe home made costumes are WAY cooler than store bought ones.  This is a perfect example!
