So, some of you might recall my entry for last year's Halloween craft challenge...

found here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=276462.msg3127355#msg3127355

I was rather unhappy with how it was "finished" (or in this case, not) for a long while. When my husband and I decided to wear them to the opening weekend of the Texas RenFest this past weekend, I knew I had to at least TRY to "fix" my gown.

I added trim and pearls to the forepart (which I adore), finally hemmed the skirt, completely redid the bodice (made it shorter too so it doesn't wrinkle up in the back like it used to) AND made my first french hood (which I like for a first try, but am looking forward to doing better later... and trying my hand at more hats; they're so much fun, you really should try it!).

I promised friends I would take pics at the festival but we got so busy walking around and oohing and aahing over all the goodies and shops (plus we kept getting stopped by a dozen or more people to take photos with them!!) that we forgot to really get more photos of just us. So I just have the one really.  Undecided  I was pressed for time to finish by this weekend (per usual  Roll Eyes ) so I don't have any in progress shots either, I just thought I'd share my wee little pic with y'all though. I got loads of compliments at the festival and was even more favorably compared to the "royalty" there (meaning: my outfits were better... lol).  Tongue

Anywho, enough talk, here's my pic:

C&C Welcome and thanks for looking... again!  Cheesy

It's not a matter of size, but a matter of heart.

I knew I'd seen this outfit somewhere!
I've been working at the Tex Ren Fest for the last 15 years, as one of those "Royalty" people... I have a black and gold dress. (I guess I should post it on here...)
any hoo, glad you had fun!

~Working on getting back into swaps after some crazy two years!~

Please help me with my "patchwork" station blanket! I would love to get fire department patches! Thanks!

I think I remember a black and gold dress... lol. Was it Elizabethan with a forepart kinda like mine with the diamonds? And I think a gabled hood and blonde hair? Or is that someone else? I was trying to snatch pics of some people but I'm not the type to be all "hey can I take your picture!?!?!" because I don't want to bother them. I didn't get to go back to the TRF last year though. Maybe I'll be able to go this year.
