Hi all! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I *think* it's ok to post cake questions here?? If not, will someone kindly redirect me? Thanks!

Anyway, my daughter is turning 3 and is in love with Toy Story. She loves Woody the best and also adores horses and cowboys. So we're throwing a simple Toy Story party, focusing on the Woody's Roundup characters. We had settled on a 3D boot as a cake, but that's kind of... boring.

I have cake experience and can do alot of things, so I'm looking for some different ideas of something cowboy-ish or specifically TS. Not really wanting to star-pipe a character's face on a flat cake. I'm thinking more 3D and fondanty. I've googled cowboy and TS parties, and most pics I've found are flat cakes w/ plastic figurines, boots, or character faces. Her first bday cake was a 3D purple penguin in a scarf and beret (my first fondant cake!), so it has to be at least that exciting. Smiley

Any ideas are welcome and appreciated!

Hi, don't know if it's too late for your request....
what about woody lying on Andy's bed? You could make the cake to look like his bed and make woody out of modelling paste. If you use a fondant "bedspread" you could use a straight edge to give it a quilted look, and paint the design on with food colouring.
Make the bed head and foot out of cardboard and cover with fondant, use a knife to make wood grain and paint brown... or make our of pastillage (you can find a great recipes here http://www.chocolatework.com/recipe/pastillage_recipe.htm for this).

What about Woody and Bullseye on the record player? The cake could be a combination of fondant and buttercream elements and the characters modelling paste.

Make sure you post some pics here when you're done. Smiley
