Wasn't sure quite where to put this, either in image reproduction techniques or homewares. I chose Homewares, because, ultimately, it is a chair. Sorry if that was the wrong decison. >.<

Anyway, I bought a plain canvas tub chair from Ikea, for 75. I think it was the cheapest armchair there, which is why I chose it. Also, it being blank I figured I could do something to pretty it up. I was originally going to sew a cover, but that looked a bit complicated, so I decided to use a foam stamp, and simply print a design onto the canvas with permanent paint.

It took approx 10 hours, completed in 3 sittings. It was very wearing on my patience, but I think the end result is worth it. What do you think?

This is the original chair.

I like the effect. You could use so many different designs and nobody else will have the same chair.

I can't believe that is stamped! It's perfect. I, too, assumed it was recovered.

I really like it, I think it came out great! How well will the paint stay? Is it still soft or do you find that it's kind of awkward? Thought about using the same paint on something too...
