We are looking for ideas for a craft to do at a sweet 16 party.  The theme of the party is international cultures.  We thought it would be great to find a fun craft from another country.  any ideas?  thanks so much.

If you give me some ideas about what coutures you want, I could find you some. Smiley

Chinese Knotting
Worry Beads / Worry Dolls
Dreamcatchers (well, First Nations, but not international)
Folded fabric flowers (they are Japanese, can't remember what they're called though)

well, it's an international party.  come dressed in traditional costume of the country of your choice. DD loves India.  She also likes other Asian countires--china, japan, etc.  And England is a favorite of hers.

but, any international would fit in.  I also thought of batik.  She mentioned an idea of decoupage on a box.  there are lots of asian themed papers and embellishements to use. might work.

any other thoughts.  anything goes.

any ideas on any party activities, foods, etc. would be great.  thanks.

have you looked into the tea bag folding?  it's a dutch craft and you don't need tea bags, just squares of pretty paper and you can find templates to print of them online, here's an example if you're not familiar.  http://coffeetea.about.com/cs/whimsy/a/teabagfolding.htm

Look around in the swap archives; there was a culture swap a few months ago and you should be able to get a lot of good ideas from that.
