I CANNOT believe that Ra'mon got sent home.... He was one of my favorites!

And Nicholas won?!?!? Christopher and Epperson's outfits were soooo much better I thought.

I thought that Christopher and Epperson's also were better sewn, but the makeup was a big part of it to.  The ice princess had really great makeup.  I didnt agree with the judges but I can see where they were coming from.   Smiley

As much as I dislike Nicolas's eastern european prostitute in white lace chaps aesthetic, he dialed down the skank enough and made it COSTUME which is what they were looking for.  Props to the make up person, (s)he made that outfit.  Without the ice queen make up, it could easily have looked just like everything else Nicolas does.

Christopher, though, period piece should recognize the social mores of the period you're going for.  Ankle was scandalous in Victorian times.  I really really wanted someone to acknowledge on the runway that any woman who wore a halter top in 1880 would have been run out of town.  It was a beautiful dress, and would be great for a dramatic statement in a runway show, but could never have been used in a period film.  Also, if you weren't good in history, don't pick period piece and then give a disclaimer before you talk about your look.

I was excited by Louise saying she was going to make her design less subtle so that it would stand out more on the runway, but she still turned out black on black, is there anything more subtle than that?

I actually had a hard time picking a favorite! Of course, christopher's design is in my top three four favorites......followed by Epperson, Nicholas and Shirin.

The others were safe but I thought for sure that Gordana would have gone home, I didn't really care for R'amon's design, but his fit with his genre of scifi, it was his take on scifi. Gordana's was nice but it had already been seen and I would have to agree with the judges that there was no stamp of her in it.

Epperson was my favorite with Christopher a VERY close second.

I agree, the judging in this episode was nuts. I really liked Ra'mon! I'm sad to see him go.  Embarrassed

I think Ra'mons design was within the parameters of SciFi.  I was sad to see him go also, he had done some good design in the past, one flub shouldn't have been the make it or break it deal with him.

Christopher's was cool, but he's doing a period piece based off of a sci/fi ideal, strange.

Nicolas's costume looked like it came fresh out of Epic Movie.  Bash the girl for black on black but another week of vanilla from Nicolas and it's a winner, meh.

Gordana's was spot on for the time period but ITA that it lacked any of her flare.

Eperson, this was the first week I was impressed with anything he's done so far.  That western dress was pretty good.

The two actio/adventures looked like they came out of one of the Tomb Raider movies, I could totally see Angelin Jolie wearing them.

I was surprised no one took on 'Steam Punk' for Sci/Fi, I think they could have gone pretty far with that idea.
