Long time reader, first time poster.  What I'm really wanting to know is: does anyone know if/where I can buy freezer paper in Australia?  I've tried Coles and Woolworths and the only thing I found that was even remotely similar was Glad Go-Between, which is more of a freezer film than a paper.  I have no idea if that stuff will work, but my guess is probably not.  I've also searched eBay, but I'm saving that for my final resort.  If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

My husband is Australian and he said that you can get wax paper or freezer paper at the Supermarket.  He mentioned Woolworth's so maybe you just looked over it???  He wasn't sure what it's called there but when I say wax paper he knows what I'm talking about.  It should be near the al foil at the Supermarket or an art supply store.  Maybe you should ask someone that works there?

I did another thorough check of Woolworths today and came up with nothing.  There's plenty of wax paper, but no freezer paper (I've heard that wax paper doesn't work well for stencilling??).  My sister used to work there and she says she's never heard of it before.

i also bought glad go-between, thinking it was freezer paper. it definitely will not work. wax paper doesn't work either. i've been searching for about a year for this stuff (i live in sydney, by the way) and there's absolutely nothing. i've decided just to use clear plastic and see how that goes. if you do find it at a craft store or something, please tell me!  Smiley

So far, the only freezer paper I've found in Australia is made by C Jenkins and there are only three distributors nation wide (two in NSW and one in WA).  http://www.punchwithjudy.com.au/ sells it online, but at $AU20+postage for fifty 8.5x11inch sheets (I think that's about the equivalent of a 10m roll), it's not exactly cheap.  Oz Quilts Australia sells the same product on eBay for $AU16+postage.  I'd say that's about the best we Aussies are going to get.

I saw some of this at the craft fair in April, but didn't buy any thinking it would be easy to buy at Woolies/Coles. Nup.

Any one found a good sources yet?

I recently heard someone say that Spotlight stocked the C Jenkins freezer paper, although I haven't checked for myself.  Other than that I saw a 15m roll on eBay for $21(inc. post).  Seems pretty ridiculous for something so simple.

Why couldn't you iron a regular piece of typing paper with your image to one side of the wax paper, cut out your image and then iron the waxy side to the shirt?  Kind of make your own freezer paper?

Anyway I've also seen it sold at quilt shops here in the States for doing appliques. It's a bit more expensive but a little goes a long way so with a roll it should last quite a while.

Hope this helps. Smiley

I work at spotlight and we do sell freezer paper. It is around $1.09 or something per metre. I use it to do all my stencilling and to make patterns. It's great stuff! This is what the box looks like:    Hope i've helped!  Smiley

i got some yesterday from my local quilting store. (craft depot in pennant hills if you are near enough). They had it on sale 1/2 price so i snapped it up, around $10 for a 50m roll. Try any quilt store, this was the second one i tried because the first one had run out so they must all have it in their stores.

I live in a small country in Europe and anyone haven't even heard of such thing. Wonderign how much would it cost to order it from some online shop? I'd really like to try it myself. Seems like a blast to stencil with it.

Damn, I wish I had known that Spotlight sell it on Sunday!  Next time, when I'm in there looking for stuff to stencil the t-shirts I'm making hopefully tomorrow.  What department is it in?  So I don't have to limp around the store feeling really tiny and wonder why they decided to put in those huge ass shelves that just make people feel claustrophobic, and frustrating whoever has taken me in there (usually the boy, who hates fabric shopping with a passion).

It was on the shelves near the quilting material. Just ask, even when the lady told where it was I still couldn't find it and she had to get it for me!  Wink

that sucks that you cant find it there, it is at the grocery store or drug store here and is really really cheap, Sad  i'd hate to think of you guys spending so much on it when it should be inexpensive.

i know other people offored but i'd send you some if you want. it might cost less to ship if i took it out of the box and mailed it in a BIG envelope, lol.
