My cousin just recently had another boy (i hoped to make a quilt for a girl this time  Roll Eyes ) and I wanted to get  a bit away from the traditional pale blue.  I started by scoring the adorable flannel monkey background fabric and I was definitely in love with it! I was secretly hoping to have some of it left over for myself...

The whole thing... it's a bit big for a baby quilt... he'll grow into it  Roll Eyes

The animal batik was rather awesome, so each big block was fussy cut so an animal was in the middle, and later I hand quilted around each of the animals with a variegated thread that's a bit hard to see in the picture. The rest of the quilting is just stitch in the ditch except for some squiggly lines

And last the backing.... because it's awesome

I really, really love the fussycut batiks and hand quilting - that looks amazing.

Love it! I love the fabrics you found and the color combo. I also get tired of making baby quilts in the "traditional" colors so I usually go for bright colors.
