So, I found a really cool website and got the idea for my (ex)BF's birthday gift. Here's a link to the site:

And my rendition. The board is 20"x20" and the tallest pieces are 4".Sorry they are a little blurry.:



















I managed to transport the pieces, now I have to make another board!

The knights are "U" bolts for holding pipe with two nuts on each end. I'm glad you guys like it. My (now ex) sweetie liked it too.

so i cant stand to play chess, i've tried to enjoy it repeatedly throughout my life, but eh, just not my thing. i do however like the look of a chess set, and i would proudly have this in my house!!! great job!
