A friend of mine got married this summer, so what else could I do but make a quilt for the happy couple?

Now, I should explain that my friend is rather unconventional in her artistic tastes, and it simply would not do to make a traditional wedding quilt. And so, after many tries, many ideas, and many hours of frustration (as all good projects should entail!), I finally finished-- and in time for the wedding!

The design was my own doing. The blocks are machine pieced (on my brand new machine! yay!), the danelions are hand-embroidered, and the quilt itself was hand-quilted.

I used the sort-of color scheme of white, orange, and green, plus the sort-of theme of dandelions:

The plain white back was decorated and signed using micron pens:

Aww!

I love this and I hope they did too. I especially love the dandelions, where did you get the inspiration for those? What's the size of this quilt?

I don't remember the exact dimensions, but the quilt was something like 18"x 24", so it's nothing big. Otherwise I never would have made it in time!

Dandelions were used as designs on the wedding invitations (which were screen-printed and stitched by hand and GORGEOUS), so I thought they would be a nice quilt theme Cheesy
