I have had the Dream Swatch Head Scarf by Wendy Bernard on my to-knit list for a long time now. I finally decided it was time to try it out! I was a little worried that the "fiddly" bits of the pattern would be either too difficult or too frustrating for me, so I thought I would start out small. In my yarn stash, I found this small amount of cotton yarn left over from another project and thought it would be perfect for this. I actually used the entire amount of yarn I had left. Woo!

Thanks for looking!

This yarn is fantastic for this stitch!  Is this a ravelry pattern or from a book.  It looks intimidating but really inviting and impressive.  (hmmm... one more 'I' word?)

What a great use for all of those stupid swatches that I refuse to frog.   Wink

Knitting goal for 2011: knit 500,000 stitches.  24,078/500,000 knit.  I think I'm going to need more yarn...

What a brilliant idea! A coaster from a headband.
Utterly unrelated items.

I converted an Irish Hiking Scarf to Irish Hiking wristlets some years ago - but those are both "outerwear" for cold weather. Why? Because I had started the scarf and realized I didn't want to knit cables on and on (forever it seemed).

Great job!

Thanks! I think that I originally found this pattern on the author's blog, but it is also available as a free ravelry download. Here's the link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dream-swatch-head-wrap

Here's the site.  Look under free patterns on the left.  Wendy Bernard has many nice patterns, and an interesting blog.  http://knitandtonic.typepad.com/knitandtonic/
