So, I came across an awesome tutorial by TheJordy and decided that I would try making a purse for myself. And... It wasn't a complete failure! (yay!)  Cheesy

I used some pretty thick fabric I have had lying around since forever and an old pink skull t-shirt that I decided I would probably never wear anymore.

So, here is the finished bag...

But the only problem is, I wanted to start off pretty basic seeing as I had no idea whether or not it would turn out. So lining aside, it looks kinda boring.

Bleeeeh. Boring.

Any ideas as to what I could do to make it a little more cute and interesting? Here was one of my ideas (the stuff isn't attached, its just kinda placed on top.) Alternate idea= a ribbon going all the way around the top with a little bow.

I was also thinking of doing some sort of stencilling? I have acryllic paints and fabric medium that I could use.. but I'm a little scared that it won't look good and I will ruin it. So yeah, any ideas would be great! Smiley

Your purse looks great. I really like your idea with the heart and the button.

Maybe you could do a freezer paper stencil of a pink skull and cross bones to match the lining?

i second stencilling the pink skull & crossbones from the lining on to it.  you could also maybe give it a bow made from the lining too.  you did a very good job on the bag. Smiley

Hmm, those are good ideas. After reading them I was gonna try stenciling the pink skull on it and maybe putting a ribbon around the top, but when I finally found all the stuff I needed, my printer was all like "I'm gonna be dumb and not let you print a black and white stencil because there is no yellow ink! Muahaha." (Ok, maybe there was no evil laughter but that was the general idea.)

So maybe I'll give it a try tomorrow  Smiley

Make a copy from the skull and enlarge,  Grin then stencil in hot pink to match the lining!
