I made this for my brother's birthday after I saw the jigsaw letter that somebody posted here, and admired the beautiful zentangles people have drawn. I used to do doodles that were kind of similar, so I decided to make him a zentangle.

I used one of those blank puzzles from Joanns as a base and I painted it with a watercolour rainbow (I love rainbows!') And after it was dried I grabbed my pens and started to draw.

It took two days to draw because my hand kept cramping up and I had to take breaks, but it was fun! I used an assortment of markers - I started with Bic Markits but they're much too fat-tipped, so I just coloured with them, and did the details with some Staedtler lumocolours and then I did the even finer details with some fine-tipped pens.

And here it is... I haven't doodled like that in YEARS but it was really fun and I can see myself doing some more. I might make some Zentangle cards...

Thanks! The hardest part was that the markers kept snagging on the corners of the puzzle pieces so I couldn't be nearly as smooth and free-flowing as I would have liked. I hope he likes it too...

I'm glad my letter inspired you! But yours is much prettier! I think I like it better than mine.

Outstanding zentagle!!!  LOOOVE the colors~!!

I don't fit in a box, round hole, or any slot that you want to put me in. I am unique, intelligent, funny, passionate, beautiful, spirited and kind. I'm a lover, not a fighter, but will fight when pushed too far. I'm a puzzle it might take you years to figure out, if you can. I am an enigma.
