I received from Laela this morning. She sent me a wonderful package. You can tell she put a lot of thought into it. Thank you, Laela!

First up, a wonderful painting. I believe it's acrylic.

Three headbands. She handpainted birds on each one. I'm currently wearing the one with the birdcage.
I love headbands and wear them all the time. I love these ones because they are tight enough that they don't fall off.

Next, she made me an awesome necklace with feather beads.

And lastly, she sent along a wool toy for my pooch. He doesn't play with toys a lot but sometimes we catch him going wild with a toy. It's for like 5 second intervals once a week. We rescued him so he has a lot of weird quirks! She also gave me 8 foam birds. I love them and I hope I find something really awesome to use them for.

And a pic of my favourite bird!

I love everything. Thanks, Laela.
I Really enjoyed this swap because Laela and I have such different tastes. This swap really made me think and I think it made me make items that were really fit to Laela's tastes.

Thanks Craftewoman for organizing.

After a bit-o-worry craftewoman's package arrived at my door safe and sound this afternoon. Prepare to ohhhh and ahhhhh.

How gorgeous is that display case? It is beyond lovely and fantastically perfect. I bought that memo board it's sitting on a couple of weeks ago. They match perfectly!

Here's a peek at the birdies inside...

Also included was this sweet little chirper...

And this totally beautiful necklace...

Awesome! I love every bit of it craftewoman. Thank you thank you thank you.

Now the tormenting wait for your package to arrive Smiley

Your pictures turned out so much better than mine. I am so relieved that you finally got it.

I'm so glad you like everything, Macnatalie! Wow, Canada Post was faster than usual. The painting is acrylic, yes. Does it match your room? I'm really happy you do wear headbands. You seemed like a headband wearer to me!

Aren't those wet felted birds neat? I'd never seen anything like those before.

I agree, it was neat to craft for someone so different than me!

Okay - I can not tell you how this package made me giggle!  Soooooo cute and I am so impressed with mouser882's crocheting skills - not just because mine are non existent, but because she did an awesome job of duplicating a couple of my REAL birds!  So, without further ado.....(can you tell which ones are the real ones and which are the "Stand-ins"?)

-and look at these cute birdies that came too!!

There was also a box of Nerds in my package - they seem to have disappeared but funny how my daughters both have bright green tongues!!

Thank you soooooo much mouser882 - this was a fantastic surprise!  And thankyou craftewoman for such a great swap!

I've got a new website! www.thisbirdsabsurd.com and I'm still on Etsy www.thisbirdsabsurd.etsy.com

I'm impressed that package got there so quickly, I was resigned to a bit of a wait. I'm really glad you liked them, thisbirdsabsurd! I had a ton of trouble figuring out the big bird because I couldn't find a proper looking pattern anywhere. I got the body after a few tries and then altered a random free wing pattern to be bigger and longer before it finally looked more like a real bird and less like a little round ball. I wish I'd seen that budgie pattern someone used earlier in this swap cause it would have helped, I think.
I used the business card you sent with your package for coloring, though I should have googled cause I missed the yellow and red at the top of the wings, apparently :p

I know the wooden ornament is a puffin but I painted it to look like your white bird which I think is a cockatiel but I cannot spell it and am not sure. The little crocheted bird is supposed to be an ornament or car hanger thingy or something, thus the loop, but it should also sit up straight because its little bottom is flat.
I'm really glad you liked everything!

Hey again guys-
Awesome display case craftewoman! Love it!

I have to apologize to Ramona Q, I made an oversite when I posted my package.  One of the cards included in my swap package is an ATC.  This card was so well designed and so professionally made, I assumed it was from a scrapbooking shop or something. Nope -  Ramona Q just has some awesome skills.  I don't have a pic of the card by itself, but here's my best try with a cropped image.  Really, the workmanship is just so fine.

I post all my crafty stuff on Facebook.  I'd LOVE if you'd like my page!

Crafty.Canadian that's a real compliment! You thought my ATC was so good that I bought it from a card shop. *blush

Speaking of good I got my package from Crafty.Canadian today!!! I talked the ear off the postman who delivered my package telling how I didn't know what it was, but I knew it was hand made and awesome. I think he was a little confused, but happy when I told him I loved getting mail.
Here are my goodies:

And the left side

I love the colours and the picture of the swallow. I am going to use it everyday and think of you Crafty.Canadian.

I also got a picture:

It's a dove painted on glass. I love it! I'm going to hang the picture in my craftorium. What I like the most about the things I got is that they are made using mediums I've never used. They inspire me to try new types of crafts.
