Well, I took a sewing class at the nearby university craft center, and the instructor freaked me out so much I never went back and never finished my skirt.  That was in 2006.  This summer I had loads of time on my hands, so thought: why not dig out unfinished skirt?   I managed to put in a zipper--I'm rilly rilly proud.

I trimmed it with what I call dingleballs and the disapproving lady at the craft store calls ball fringe, but truly, I don't see much of a difference there.  My facial expression is very weird, sorry about that.

Hope you like it!  Comments appreciated!

Skirt with dingleballs

My daughter took this piccy--I'm making a weird face.

It's so cute! Congratulations on finishing your skirt without any scary instructor's help. BTW, I think dingleballs sounds much more fun than ball fringe! Grin

That looks so fun!  Btw, dingleballs is much more a descriptive name than ball fringe.  Aren't all those cloth store ladies disapproving though? lol

cute skirt! dingleballs is cheery and fun.
ball fringe sounds like something to accessorize a mans privates. definately would not want that on my skirt.

LOL silly slippers!!!  I'm so telling the hubby that next time I drag him around Hancocks (what a regrettable name for a fabric store!)

Hee hee hee, I'm liking where this discussion is going.

Thanks for the comments!  I'm going to try to make another skirt out of some sparkly red stretchy denimy stuff I found on sale (it looks better than it sounds) and the Sew-U book.  We'll see if the dingleballs work with that too!

Wish me luck!

now i want a few metres of dingleballs :-D

the skirt looks cute, i really like how the balls resemble cherries. the dingleballs connect everything in such a great way.

there seems to be cherry print epidemic! LOL I have made a few things with the same fabric! You can't go wrong, and if I saw you wearing it i would be giving you so many smiles! I love it, dingles and all!
