This looks yummy - thanks for posting the recipe! Im kind of addicted to sugar, and when I started to consider veganism I thought Id be stuck with dark chocolate for the rest of my life  Sad, but Im slowly realising how many possibilities there are  Grin.

They actually make vegan milk chocolate.

Thanks guys! Let me know if you try it and how you go. It took me a little while to perfect it.

I want some...question is what is nuterlex?

I looked it up, and it's a margarine in Australia.  Folk in the US/Canada can use Earth Balance (that's my preferred vegan margarine).  Now, where to find glucose and malt syrup...

It's a really tasty margarine, made from nuts and although more expensive tastes stacks better then regular vegan marg!

The glucose syrup and malt syrup can be replaced with a 1 cup of corn syrup. Is that what you guys have? In Australia it's called glucose syrup but I'm pretty sure it's made of the same stuff. I added 1/2 of malt syrup because I had some...it can work without it, it's an alternative to sugar and adds a nice flavour, probably find in a health food shop.

Lukka - I'm the same, sugar is like my drug haha! It was the one thing holding me back from going vegan...I know it's lame but I'd snack on lollies that have gelatine (bones) in them, but there are HEAPS of alternatives and it means I get to try new recipes and it's really rewarding. One of my favourite chocolate stores that has the best vegan chocolate that they make in South Australia has just started to list milk as an ingredient and I am livid...it's disappointing. There are some great choccys out there though and once you make the change it's actually better for you too.

I forgot to mention that I added this caramel into my banana peanut butter pie, so there is a layer of caramel it was so yum!

Glucose syrup and corn syrup are pretty much the same thing.  We do have malt syrup here, apparently, at health food stores I think.  I've never noticed it but I saw local places that sold it online when I looked.

Could you possibly substitute coconut milk or almond milk for making vegan milk chocolate?

Oh thank you so much....I did not want to disappoint them as they are not vegan....I just know ME...I would have been sooooo tempted to eat them.
