Ever wonder how they get sun dried tomatoes?  You know the FDA isn't going to let them sell something that hung out all day without some kind of protective covering.  Well here's my take on it.  These taste just like what you buy in the store.

Grab a handful of fresh ripe tomatoes from the garden.

Slice them about 1/2 inch thick and put them in the dehydrator.

About nine hours later, dried tomatoes.

Vacuum packaged and ready for winter.

Bring on the pizza!

I need to do this with some of mine to keep for our pasta this winter.  Yummy.
