I made this for my best friend. It's the first bag I've ever crocheted, and almost the first crochet project I've ever completed (another project managed to squeeze its way in, and I started and finished that while in the middle of this one  Smiley). I found the pattern for the bag on Priscilla Hewitt's website (http://web.archive.org/web/20011226082632/members.aol.com/lffunt/tote.htm). I added 2 rows and did the handle a little differently (I attached it to the top instead of around the bag like in the pattern). The pattern for the flower is from the Klutz Crochet book  Grin

Lining (looks like it's white, but it's really pale pink):

Bag turned inside-out to get a better view of the lining:

Thanks for looking!

So pretty!  I absolutely LOVE the fabric you used for the lining.  Your friend will love it, and if she doesn't, send it my way!!

LOVE the colors you chose!

Thanks, guys!

I know, I love the fabric too! I bought twice as much as I needed and kept the leftovers for my stash  Smiley

I chose the colors because one of the colors of the school my friend goes to is maroon, and because we both like pink (...and also because I liked how pink and maroon went together).

This is great! I can't believe this is the second complete thing you've made. I was still making potholders when you made this!

Colors are great and the lining is great. It's just a great bag. Your friend is really lucky.

Beautiful bag....Makes me want to make one for my friend who works in a Women's Imaging Center doing mammograms.  Can you see it with a pink ribbonfabric lining?

Nice work!  Thanks for sharing  Wink

Wow! That's awesome! I can't believe that's the first bag you've ever crocheted! You did so well. I've been crocheting for years and I probably couldn't make a bag that nice.
