Well I dont know about all of you but I find the short weeks to be the busiest.  I have been stitching like a crazy person most nights this week trying to get doo_lerouxs towel done for today but I think it will have to go out Monday instead.

I Sew Cute you stitch cute too Wink I cant wait to see it in person!

Zombie_Queen it definitely fits the theme just right Wink

PaleAngelLex I like the stitch you used in the bangs and I think the flowers are for me what really gives it that cameo feel (I like the pink)

Susie I always love how clean your stitching I love the expression on your riders face!

Fenifer the octopus fits just right and the wavy colors really perk it up!

In any case, I love seeing the gallery build and I will try to comment on each piece but mostly hang in there with me because I sometimes see things and dont have time to write out what I want to say!

Going to Viva this year April 1-4!

Here's what I stitched on kittykill's towel. It's an Urban Threads design. Kittykill had requested themes of women or great quotes (or something else, which I can't recall at the moment!) -- in doing a bit of stalkering, I saw that she likes cherry blossoms, so I opted to go for a beautiful woman surrounded by cherry blossoms .

Kittykill's going to frame each design to hang in her office, so I was happy to have an excuse to do some crayon-tinting. I think kittykill does such a beautiful job in her crayon-tinting that I felt the bar was set plenty high for me!! I crayon-tinted the kimono (but not the obi), the tree, the loose petals around her feet, and her hair, then left the whole flowers, obi, skin, and fan untinted (the fan is stitched with metallic floss).

Sadly, the pictures don't show off the crayon-tinting very well. I purposely did the tinting so it'd be faint, but still noticeable, but in the pictures it's just mostly not noticeable . I don't know if that's because it's rainy today and I couldn't get any decent light to take a picture, or if it's simply that I need to tinker around some more with getting better pictures -- my hubby, the photographer, is out of town today, so I don't have his brain to pick about that!

I really love this design and am super happy with how my crayon-tinting and embroidery turned out.

Fenifer, I already commented on your great octopus over in Flickr -- great job!

Fenifer, I love the octopus. It's so cool. I really love the way that whole towel is going. Great addition!

Glenda, I've been wanting to stitch that one up for so long, and you did such a wonderful job.

~Glenda, that's gorgeous. I still haven't dipped my toes into the crayon tinting pool, but you've inspired me.

I love the geisha! I'm partial to anything Asain though. The crayon tinting works nice with the flow of the stitching.

Wow, ~Glenda, that is beautiful. Such great stitching!

I love instant gratification almost as much as I love parentheses!

EEEEPPPP! ~Glenda! That is SO beautiful! She will look so amazing in my office. Thank you SO much. I love her. You did a great job on the tinting. I am so excited!

Thanks, y'all Smiley. Just envision the crayon-tinting on the kimono being a couple shades lighter than those of the turquoise and pink flosses on the kimono and that'll give you a more accurate idea of the crayon-tinting. The crayon-tinting on the tree is a tad darker than it appears in the pic, too. The hair is about right, tho Wink.

For me, this was a really nice way to kick off the tea towel tour! I, too, have loved this design and wanted to stitch it for a while now, so it was fun to have an excuse to stitch it.
