Ok my best freind has 4 kids and like no time to scapbook So I want to scrap all the photos I took of her kids from this year. theres ALOT of photos from numerous events (and wild evenings in my back yard). So I havent made a book in along time. I was trying to come up with a idea to Unify the whole scrapbook but I have no idea where to start. I did my other BFF's in a song theme. Theres four kids ( Boy 10, girl 9, girl 4, girl 2) plus our freinds (samantha 26, Me 24-25) and my Bff and her husband. Plus theres lots of photos with my sisters and my family. So many people, How do you make it work? Im feeling overwelmed. Is there a easy way to start? Is there a easy way to make it look great? How do you orgizine your scrapbooks? Do you do it by event? If so what do you do when not all your photos are from events? I have lots and lots of random shots. Ive got around 300 (ducks head) photos too. Eeeek! Depending on how this goes I may do mini scrapbooks for the rest of my family. Also does anyone have cute ideas for saving memories from the year? I want a fill in the blank type thing that I can type up (or print) to fill in. I can do this without her knowing too since I teach all 4 of her children throught the day.

I just need HELP!!! I havnet made a book in forever and I love this board (and you'll are so nice)

I know most people prefer to organise these things by theme, but I think that's really better left to smaller books. Personally, I think that a scrapbook with no chronological structure wouldn't be the best way to preserve memories coherently, because a few years down the line no one will remember which pictures came from which event or even from which month or year. If I were doing what you are describing, I would start by organising the photos in chronological order, then organise them more thematically for specific pages. Keep the kids together on the pages instead of giving them each their own pages. That way when they look at the book later, they won't just skip over their siblings' pages to get to their own! Really I think the best way to do it is just to collect anything you think you may want to use, organise it loosely into separate piles, and then work on the individual pages. I'm working on a scrapbook right now and I'm really trying to keep it a "scrap"book, i.e. not just a book filled with pretty storebought papers without sentimental value. Hopefully it will make for a more meaningful and less expensive final product!

I agree that it may be easier to organize them into smaller books. That way you don't have to worry about what photos to not use if you have so many you have taken that are good photos! Maybe do two books. One for the two older children and one for the two younger. That way you could use embellishments, stickers, and what not that are age appropriate for them. If that doesn't work if there are a lot of pictures of them together you could do three books? And the last one be with group shots and pictures of all of the other people you mentioned. That way if you split the books up into mini projects maybe it wouldn't be quite as overwhelming for you! Smiley

I'm a crafty kid. I just can't help myself.
