I was inspired by all of these zentangle posts lately.. I have done a few in the past, but I am going back to school this fall (after 6 years - i am super nervous) and I want my supplies to be unique to me.

I basically drew the collage on the planner cover and then onto tracing paper and used carbon transfer paper to cut out each piece of hair.

If you know anything about the White Stripes, they only wear red white and black. I tried to make all of the strands be one of these three, though Meg's hair has a bit of flesh color (it was all from a tattoo mag)

It is also a little confusing, I have a red and white striped decoration in the back - it makes meg's look a bit weird. Busy, if you will.

Those are both absolutely amazing! Both Meg and Jack look amazing. Must say I really like Meg, she kinda reminds me of Art Nouveau - both do. You'll be great going back to school C:

Thank you both!

Meg is definitely my favorite, but Jack's is easier to realize the background.

It was hard to come up with a design for Jack's hair, so it looks kind of weird, long and flowing was easier. I originally wanted to use his earlier face, from de stijl or white blood cells, but without facial hair, he looked like a girl, chubby cheeks, big lips. (and with the semi curly hair i had in the first draft, he looked kind of like me... which is scary.)

Yay for the White Stripes!  I saw them in concert in Paris a couple of years ago!  Your planner design looks so intricate.  Congratulations on going back to school.  Yay for you!
