I picked up some yarn from Joann's just to see if I could do this before I ordered some wool to do a set for my family.

I love it! I never thought I could do color work nor follow a chart but I did it and now I'm telling everyone. My grandma tried to take it home with her, a very high compliment. yay!

The pattern is here

Great job!  I think that is looks awesome.  It is going to be gorgeous when you have a whole family by the fireplace!

I am trying to turn all of my non crafty friends and relatives into crafters. It's like a cult. I want everyone to become addicted to my obsessions!

Beautiful.  You did a lovely job on the colourwork.

If it had grown up, it would have made a dreadfully ugly child; but it makes rather a handsome pig, I think.

So beautiful!  I also did my first colorwork on a stocking.  It was easier for me because I could knit it inside out and and I kept the floats at the right tension.  Come to think of it, my stocking was the same colors!  (but not traditional like yours; more like a funky argyle. anyway.)
