You don't take a photograph, you make it.

Thanksgiving has come early to our house this August  Grin

Our roommates parents gave us a turkey so we decided to invite a bunch of friends over and bring their own thanksgiving dish.  I decided to make my favorite bread that I usually only make one time a year.

Here's the recipe if interested:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix all together, stir in:

3/4 cup orange juice (I like to use light syrup from a can of mandarin oranges)
1 tsp grated orange peel (optional)
2 TBS shortening
1 egg well beaten

When well blended add:

1 1/2 cups chopped cranberries
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Pour into greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan

Bake for 55 minutes @ 350 degrees or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool on a rack for 15 minutes, then remove from pan and allow to cool completely, wrap and store overnight.

If anyone tries this recipe let me know how it turns out  Smiley
