Plated with a side of grilled romaine.

I know it sounds insane.  Salt dries stuff out right?  Nobody takes two fat slabs of fine strip steak and slathers them with salt before grilling them right?  I realize this is a huge leap of faith, but trust me.  This is money...

Fat steaks.  Phone for perspective:

Layer of coarse salt:

For years I have been the guy who marinades the steak over night in a liquid marinade and then adds a sprinkle of salt right before I grill.  This method allowed me to purchase a steak at the store and plate it less than an hour later.  Great for convenience....  Oh and I have also improved the process to flavor with more than just the salt.  Working on the write up of that...

When I saw your grilled romaine, I knew I had to try it.  Well this is what I had for dinner with grilled tomatoes, cucumbers, and lump crab meat.  Thank you for the inspiration as it was delicious.  I will now share this with the rest of my family at our family get-together this weekend.  Thanks again! YUM!
