I absolutely loved the shape of Stephanie Japel's textured circle shrug, but not the overall design. I find she clutters her garments with unnecessary textures that detract from otherwise smooth and classy designs. So I removed it all! I basically used the pattern as a sizing guideline.

Pattern: Stephanie Japel's Textured Circle Shrug (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/glamknits.html?r=1)
Yarn: Nashua Handknits Creative Focus Cotton
Needles: 4.5/5 mm circulars.
Modifications: Worked whole body in stockinette, moss stitch around borders, worked only half of collar to make it flat instead of foldy

I'm such a supermodel

It was very hard to get a decent picture of the back. So here is a bad one.

Thanks for looking! C+C welcome.

I totally know where you're coming from.  Doo-dads can be cool in small doses, but sometimes (especially with a shrug, it's only an accent piece really) simplicity says so much more.
Love the colour you chose as well, goes great with your hair.  Nice work.

If it had grown up, it would have made a dreadfully ugly child; but it makes rather a handsome pig, I think.

Great job! I too find that simpler is better, and much much classier!

...so in the name of classiness, I should also say that your tush is gorgeous ;o)

Cute!  Love the moss stitch.  I actually prefer yours to the one on the website.
