Hi ladies.  I realized that I probably hadn't checked in lately.  Don't worry, I'm still here, crafting away.

This swap is a bit slow-going for me.  I find that I like spending a day or two just *thinking* and *dreaming* before I decide on something.  I'd say my shrine is about 65-70% done.  I've also made a few extras to go in my package.  I was originally going to add some supplies to my box to fill it, but I was robbed by my own bank, so I decided to just make craftypuppymom some presents instead.  I'm also back to work now, which means that I have all the resources and supplies of a rather well stocked university costume shop to play with, which has yielded a few supplies that i just needed a *bit* of, rather than a whole package.  Due to the aforementioned evil perpetrated by my bank, I won't be able to afford to ship until close to the deadline anyways, so I'm just allowing myself to create my shrine in a more "organic" way than I usually craft.  I usually plan, sketch, and then execute in a matter of a few days total.  (All those years of graduate school theatre really took their toll!)  I'm really not used to working on something as I have an "inspired" moment, and it's still slightly disconcerting, but I am liking it.  :-)

Good Morning!

I'm also a bit behind on posting...  I got back from my biz trip late Friday and my family had decided to start a garage sale for this coming up weekend.  The house was trashed and I spent the whole weekend going through stuff.  It's wonderful to find long lost items though...it was kind of like Yuletime.  In fact I found several presents that I had never used and had "lost".  Anyway, over the long weekend I plan to finish up most of the shrine.

Oh and I am TOTALLY going to sign up for the Halloween Swap!  Yay!!!
Greetings and Merry Meet!

actually - to put you all at ease, other than that first week when we were getting used to all this check in business, no one is late signing in so far, LOL! Everyone has either posted on the thread at least once every week or has sent me a PM of some sort so I know you are still getting on here regularly and working toward a goal, or were on a trip so out of touch

I am very proud of this group!  Kiss

jennieingram - I love that you are sort of exploring a different methodology with this, though I understand how you are feeling...

I have a tendency to do the opposite of you - stew a while, and then wing it - put it away a couple of days and see if it needs anything more or if I need to start over - repeat as needed, LOL!

partner mine - I picked up a few things for you while I was in Omaha, and ordered something for both you and chibi's partner so we have to wait on it to come in - but the shrine is still a work in not quite progress, LOL! I have bits and pieces for it everywhere, and I am thinking I will pull it together and it will hopefully be ok...

we shall see

ps - chibi got her package from Radmom, opened it and was tickled, then realized she left MY camera at her boyfriends house because they want to take pics of the new kittens that they were bringing home today, so has to take pics of her package yet  Undecided  and yes she is going to make me crazy mad with impatience if she doesn't get your parcel mailed soon.

Radmom - you did a great job! I don't know what that anime thing was, but both her and her guy were giggling and yakking and had it with them when they left to go after kitties, so I have a feeling it may not make it into the pictures...   Cheesy

feel I've been sick forever - still tired and RUNNING LATE!!!

Give me a bag of tumbled stones and I will play for hours! Wink

Brightest Blessings!

I will be sending close to the deadline too jennieingram Smiley  I need the extra time to craft a few more things for the box.  The last of my supplies should be here in the next couple of days and I am soooooo excited Smiley  I've had this image in my head of what I want to do and I will be so excited to see how it turns out.  I'm even more excited I have a 3 day weekend coming up to work on it all!!

I'll be sending to phnxreign99 close to the deadline too, I haven't even had time to start yet (I do have a great pile of stuff for her shrine though Smiley)  life in the altered household is very crazy right now...sister vacation (a ton of fun was had by all) followed by getting one kid back to university, 2 kids to high school, brief visit with the fella which includes trying to stuff a summer's worth of honey do list into a couple of days, deliver him to the airport on Friday, BFF's wedding on Saturday then yay!  crafting time Smiley

Hey - I am checking in. Since Tuesday I have been in bed. I woke up Tuesday morning with a horrible toothache, had my mom call her friend/dentist to get me in asap and got in. He had to send me to a specialist and it turns out the root canal filling that the dentist I saw many years ago used something that was recalled and the toxins/poison is leaking into my gums and jaw bone. After taking penicillin and pain meds I was still in so much horrible pain I stayed at my mom's who got my boyfriend to come over (he was at home watching the cat) to come with us to the ER. We stayed from 11PM till 5AM for a morphine shot  and pain pills...I got home after going to Walgreens and to SB for a soy hot chocolate at 7AM...Since then I was crying, horrible and mean and out of it. I feel better today...I still hurt a bit and I still cannot eat...

I am going to try and get work done! My cat's operation has been postponed till next week.

Oh my goodness, are they going to do something to correct the filling? Like switch it out so it doesn't continue to poison you? Thats some really scary stuff. Sad I hope you and Mar take a few days to just snuggle on the couch and feel better until you both get fixed up. *hug*

Hope your feeling better missmuffcake - I think tooth pain is the worst pain in the world ... I have a pretty intense dental phobia  Tongue

I think I'm ready to send out my shrine to alteredmommy.  I'm actually pretty happy with it, considering my lack of shrining ability - I think I've saved myself from embarrassment.  I have had it sitting on the counter for a couple days, waiting to see if anything falls off or the ends of the papers curl up or anything! (So far, it's stayed together)  Now the trick will be to pack it and hope it arrives in Canada in one piece.  I should be able to send on Tuesday -   Grin

Got this piece of shrinky dink ... had it for 25 years now.  It's moved to five states and one European country ... and I just know, someday ... SOMEDAY ... I WILL use it!
