So, this is my 2nd carved stamp. I got one of those starter Speedball kits at Michael's (yeah for 40% off coupons) to make some stamps for a swap. I really like how the stamp turned out. It was really fun and addictive. Now I want to make custom bookplates to use in our collection of books.

Here is a picture of the tracing image, stamp, and stamped image.

Closer look

I like how the definition on the arms and hands came out. It wasn't intentional, at first, but since I carved along the first outline, I really liked the effect and just cleaned it up to look how I wanted.

I love Rubber stamping! They're so much fun to make! I'll have to put up pictures of mine. I made and Andy Warhol one and this crazy skull with a mohawk and an eye patch.  You should try a two step stamp! You cut out only the back ground and stamp that with one color [ it's better to do a bunch of those ] and then you cut out the rest you want out in another color. It's a little more difficult to line everything up.. but the contrast of the colors looks awesome when you're done!

Great job on the Twilight stamp! Smiley

Thanks Pinkleo and Spilt Stitch! A two step stamp would look awesome with this particular image. I might need more practice first, but something to look forward to trying with future stamps.
I'm willing to do a personal swap! :-)

I love how you usedt he negative space.  I totally would have spaced that one out.  It works so well to ink everything but the hands/arms.  great job!  i would definitely keep this hobby!

That's so great, I love it!  You did a really good job, I imagine you'll be so addicted to these, if I had enough money to support my habit the whole world would be covered in stamps.  Wink
