So I've been stalking around on craftster for quite a long while now, but this is my first post. =]

These shoes have been laying around in my closet since seventh grade [[I'm a junior now]] and after seeing all the amazing things people have done with old shoes around the site, I decided to take a shot at making them into something I might actually wear.

Here are the shoes before. Black and pink. Very plain. No longer my style.

So I swiped at them with a bleachy rag, and to my surprise, they turned red! This quickly faded to orange, but that was still pretty cool. So I ran them through the rinse cycle to make sure they didn't keep bleaching [[I really like the color at this point!]]

Here's one hanging out in the dryer.

And the finished result:

Viola! I'm in love with them. You can't really see the tongues or back stripes here, but they're white, not yellowy like they look above. I can't wait to wear them out =]

What do you guys think?

Those came out so awesome! I have many old pairs of converse laying around that I don't wear anymore. I think I might have found something to do with them....
