Oh my gosh, this is just outstanding! You and your brother are very talented!

I'm also jealous that you have a Peter and an Edmund. Since my closest-in-age sibling was well into adulthood when I read the books, I had to play Narnia with imaginary siblings. Sad

Can I join your family? I'll be Jill!

How incredibly detailed and awesome! I can't wait to see all of your costumes together.
And the shot with his ripped jeans beneath the chain mail cracks me up!  Grin

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

WOW! this is so amazing!! I looooooove the Narnia books (I named my dog Lucy the Valiant!)!! You guys even have the dark hair which I always imagined the real Pevensies to have. The costumes are amazing... I am totally blown away! I say next, you need a DLF!

After all, he is not a tame lion... Cheesy

The next layer is the arm guards which I think are also called guantlets but I'm not totally up to date on all the armor vocab, sorry. John patterned, tooled, dyed, and constructed these by hand by himself.

Actually those are called bracers or vambraces... and they look FABULOUS! Smiley

The metal bit in the sword photo is a gauntlet. Wink

Gosh - what incredible work.  I can't get my head around the patience involved in making that chain mail.  And the arm guards are amazing.  Can't wait to see more photos!

Those bracers are amazing! I'm going to try my hand at them soon.
AWESOME job! Narnia is ftw!
(okay, did I totally just use ftw? I never use that expression...)
Anyway, great job and I'm EXTREMELY jealous! My best friend, her siblings and I all played Narnia too! Only she and her sibs all have red hair and I have blonde....(which didn't work so great.)

Tell your brother he's awesome and he has a bunch of craftster stalkers now. (just kidding)  Wink

I really like the shirt and the embroidery too!

LOL thanks for the info. I'll update it when I get a chance.

And thanks for the compliments everyone! John isn't so much patient as industrious--he can't sit still even to watch a movie, he'd rather be making chain mail or sewing leather while he watches. Heck, he took some chain mail swatches when we went to a baseball game!

We also have a cousin who looks like us we're going to try and wrangle into being our Lucy. Hopefully she won't be too embarrassed!

Chain mail from scratch...that is so mindboggling!

I hope you all are thinking ahead to a dragon costume for another cousin to be Eustace.
