So my boyfriend made mention of wanting to learn to knit after seeing a book that showed this sweatervest with a skull on it. For a surprise I want to make him a manly knitting kit, and I wanna sew up a bag to put everything in. I'm getting him needles, yarn, stitch savers, some scissors, and two knitting books. I bought material for the outside and for the lining but as I was drafting a pattern I thought-
Well hey, I don't want him to feel like I made him a purse.

What's a good manbag-esque idea for his knitting bag? He's got a canvas tote bag that has Stephen Colbert's face on it and he uses that sometimes, so maybe a simple two piece tote would do?

You're just closer to me when you fall.

I think Messenger bags along the lines of the ever popular Jordy Bag can be "manly" depending on the fabrics used.
