Would you mind, please, explaining in greater detail HOW to make bags like this?  It's a poor chic's all hand-made Christmas in my universe this year, and I could really adapt this to various people's taste.  Thanks

Sure, I will try. I found two poster that went well together. However you could use one and fabric on the other side, or gift wrap on the other side, or use a map for the bag.

To make the paper more durable you either need contact paper or fusible vinyl. This protects for spill but also cracking and paper wear. You need fusible interfacing for the backside. This keeps the seams from tearing. My first bag, I used a double fusible interfacing. This adhered the lining to the interfacing as well. The bag was very strong with this process, but less finished on the inside. Next time, I will interface the lining seperately.

After that you sew it into a bag. After I finish my daughters bag I want to get a Johnny Depp poster.

How do you not damage the paper when you iron on the interfacing?

That is the tricky part. I tried protecting it with a pressing cloth, but it wouldn't fuse properly. So, I just bit it and fused it. If your interfacing isn't too thick you might be able to do it from the back. I couldn't. I used the thickest, stiffest interfacing I could find. It made a nice bag but was difficult to turn, there was some wrinkling. I decided the fading/abrasion from the iron and a few wrinkles just added to the desired look of the bag. I embraced the worn look, I was recycling after all.

I'm not sure. I do remember the magazine was somewhat pricey. It did come with six poster though.
