I've been in so many swaps lately I woke up last weekend and thought 'wow I haven't made myself anything in forever' so I dug around in my stencils file and found one I've been meaning to do. It's loosely based on Brody from the Distillers, and hey. .what more fun can you have with girls with mohawks..
So anyways, I grabbed my black Old Navy hoodie that was starting to get those little fuzzies, and decided it needed a facelift..

This stencil was the hugest pain in the butt to cut out, but only took me about half a hour while watching a movie..

I love metallic acrylic paints so I added a few little metallic pink areas

Then I decided it needed a little bit more so the next day I added 3 little stars to one of the pockets (I'm not really that white I highlighted the pic to show the pocket) and one to the hood..

I like this stencil but if I make it again I think I'll put it on something that's a light color and do it in a metallic black or other dark color Smiley

Ooh that's so awesome!  I love the colors.  I had no idea that metallic pink paint existed.  You always make really fun things.

Aww thanks! Yeah Folk Art brand acrylic paints have at least 12 colors in metallics. I get mine for $1.39 at Walmart. So far I've tried metallic pink, silver, silver with glitter, and metallic black.. they really stand out but suck to take a pic of after..   Undecided

Excellent stencil!  I used that very same metallic pink paint the only time I have tried the embroidery-hoop silk-screen process as described elsewhere on Craftster.  I have not gotten up the gumption to try stenciling yet.!

I think my fabric was too finely-meshed because I had to go back over a lot of it with a paintbrush, but it came out great anyway.  The band loved it, which is what I REALLY wanted  Wink

Ok xmelinda I'm so loving the metallic pink on the brown.. I'm going to have to try that. I picked up a metallic 'Ameythist' purple today, I can't wait to try that Smiley
