I've been away for a while with the new job that I cant stitch at and exciting stuff at home. One of the more exciting happenings was that Windy and I were expecting a baby boy.

Sadly Windy went in to labor a little too early and he did not make it. So for once I am cross stitching something very serious and very dear to me - instead of my usual smart-assery!

I chose the lyrics from "99 Red Balloons" because a: we released balloons at our memorial service and b: I always felt the song was about surviving the end of the world, which is what the last two weeks have really felt like.

Sorry for such a downer. Hopefully next time I am back it will be a little more fun.

Sorry the pic isnt that good. Cant really steady a camera right now either.

Thank you for sharing such a special piece. As a mother myself, I can't fathom the deep amount of grief you must all be experiencing. I hope that memorializing your little angel brings healing in some way.

Thank you for sharing your story with us.  My heart goes out to you and your family.  I am sure this project was extremely difficult to start let alone finish.  I believe Logan is in a peaceful place, holding your balloons.

Beautiful color choices and as always, great stitching.

I hope it was at least a bit cathartic to make something so lovely from such a tragic experience.

Best wishes <3

I'll echo what everyone else here has said.  Making beautiful things like this, really does have the power to help you survive what feels like the end of the world.  Peace and Love from a stranger who's been there, to your whole family.

Dearest James,

You and Windy and your girls are in my thoughts and prayers. My DH and I lost 2 babies that way and our firstborn son only lived an hour.  I can promise you that things will get easier with time and your love for each other.

I give you great credit for being able to do such a lovely piece and I am positive it will be cherished by Windy.
