I have started to sew in February and have been lurking around here ever since. I found some great tutorials here - especially these: Easy zippered pockets, Lined zippered pouch and Pleated Tote - and thought I'd show some of the bags I made recently.

I made these for me...

this one for a friend's birthday

this one for another friend's birthday

and this one for my cousin's birthday. she will be travelling through Australia and Thailand soon and wanted to take something girly and really cheesy with her. (I shouldn't have used the black thread  Embarrassed) It has a flat bottom, of which I am quite proud  Grin.

sorry, only links as this is my first post

The pockets of the first one look very nice !

And the last one is sooooo cute, I didn't notice the black thread until I read your comments on it.

You did a great job on all of your things - is the first one just a variation of the pleated tote?  I like the contrasting fabric pockets on the top corners.   Keep up the good work!

I love them all! Did you use a pattern for the first two bags? I love their shape. Great job!

I used this tutorial - Pleated Tote for the second bag - it is my favourite tutorial for bags because I like them huge.

For the first one I didn't have a pattern. I just saw similar bags here on craftster and thought "I want one!!!". I measured a bag I liked for the size and then just sort of winged it. I really would have liked this bag if I hadn't put a zipper in. Now it is kind of crooked when the zipper is closed   Roll Eyes
