I made this bag to carry my scissors back and forth from work. I had the fabric and soaked it in hot water with washing soda and fabric softener. I then let it dry and ironed the fabric to freezer wax paper and printed the design from my computer, on my inkjet printer. After I printed it I let it sit for a while then ironed it some more to set the ink, then pulled it off the paper and ironed some more, then soaked it in water to see if  the ink came off. Most of it stayed as you can see, a few scissors washed a way but most of the dark ink stayed.

I often wondered how it would work out if I printed straight onto fabric (and not used the store bought dedicated stuff). Sometimes you want the design right on your fat quarter. You have inspired me to give it a try.
