Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is my absolute favorite of the Harry Potter series.  Professor Snape is my favorite character.  I couldn't sleep the other night (probably due to movie release excitement) and found myself painting this little portrait of my favorite potions master:

This was done with acrylic paint on an 8x10 panel canvas.

He lives on my bookshelf at the moment.

Thanks for looking!

Where are all the other Harry Potter crafts?  With the release so close I figured that the boards would be flooded with them?

Woah! I love your portrait! It's really nice! Cheesy Snape Wink

I agree with you about the lack of HP-related crafts. There should be more, the release is just a few days away! I do have a small craft that I've been working on the last few days, that I will be using as a prop for my hogwarts student costume at the release. I will probably post it later.

He looks perfectly mean and unimpressed, good job!

If it had grown up, it would have made a dreadfully ugly child; but it makes rather a handsome pig, I think.

Great job. It looks just like him! I always thought Snape was ridiculously mean but he is a very interesting character.

That's amazing! I'm always so impressed by painters - I have no skill whatsoever in that area. It's just gorgeous - and actually, I was just thinking the same thing about the lack of Harry Potter crafts!

In progress; Serenity Pillow Case, One Block Wonder, Cross-Stitch Baby Quilt, Retro Dress, Beach Mosaic.

After years of lurking on this site I had to register to tell you: LOVES IT!!!  Great painting, great character, great actor, great movie, great job.

I'm going to definitely copy this in some way - mixed media maybe - I'll post the results.

Thanks for the inspiration!
