Recently I finally finished a pouch I was making for a friend.
I started on it ages ago, but then didn't like the way the embroidery was turning out.
So I left it for a while and was thinking about how I could change it.

I was thinking of doing long and short stitch to start with and mix different coloured strands of floss to get a shading effect, but that didn't look good to me.
So I gave up on the shading and used satin stitch and now I am really happy with it.
I am going to give it to her in three weeks and I am sure she will like it.

The embroidery is the coat of arms of her family.

This is the finished embroidery:

The chains are done in chain stitch.

This is the lining of the pouch. It has a lace bottom, so to use it properly it really needed the lining.

Sorry, I don't have a proper picture of the lace part, on the photo it just won't show...

And this is the complete pouch.

The pouch itself is done in naalbinding.

Again, if you want to read the full story in German, you can do so on my blog Smiley http://betweentimes.blogr.ws/tag/beutel/

Thanks for looking,
Gerah Smiley

Really nice satin stitching! I'm still trying to get the hang of that...

Wow, that pouch turned out so nice! The coat of arms is great, and I love the string detail on the pouch. I must make more pouches to stop being so jealous on this one!

I am happy with it too now.
Had to change strategy twice though Wink
I am sad I didn't had the chance to show you the pouch before I am giving it to my friend now, we haven't seen each other for a while.

And I am jealous on your pouches too, I can't do naalbinding as well as you do Wink

So we can both make more and more pouches *hehe*
