Alright, so I came up with this idea while I was thinking about how to burry my rat that passed away. I know it may be a tad strange but I think it's a great way to remember loved animals that have passed on.

I purchased this box and painted it with a day of the dead style rat skull on the top of it. I also added some filigree (the front one happens to looks like two abstract rats kissing...aww, funny how things work out). I was not completly finished here as I have not added his name yet and it needs to be sealed. However, I think I am going to try and construct actual coffin like boxes that are decorated as well. Even if your not up for keeping the remains of your animal, you can always seal their keepsakes in there, like toys, some furr etc.

Let me know what you guys think, I wanted some opinions before I blindly put them up in my shop   Grin

Also please note that I try to make a business out of my creativity, so although I totally support those crafty enough to make their own, I do not appreciate people who steal others ideas for their own financial gain.

That's pretty cool. I wished I would've thought of making a coffin for my turtle instead of burying him in a plastic container.

i love personal swaps. i'm looking to swap my art or paper crafts for some re-usable fabric snack bags, fabric sandwich wraps, fabric paper towels, glass pendants, ephemera, or art books.

It's not strange at all, I think its a great idea. I don't like the idea of burying my cats in shoe boxes. I think I'll make some myself...thanks for sharing!

thanks for the feedback guys. These coffins are definately a go and I will update with pics once I've completed various animal coffins.

Oh, and what do you guys think of the artwork on the rat coffin I made?
