Everyone in my house is speechless with envy.  I thought the book case was amazing.  But not even close to how amazing the hidden door is.  I will be talking about this for days.  Thank you so much for letting us see this.

Wow!  This is totally amazing.  At first I was insanely jealous of all the shelf space, then I saw it was a secret door.  How utterly cool.  I love seeing people attain their dreams.

WOW, this is AWESOME! One day, when we finish our basement, I will make secret passage from the family room area to my craft room and a secret passage underneath my kitchen floor to go down to a wine cellar/finished basement, and host extravagant murder mystery dinner parties.

Do you think there is anyway to up a fire place on the bedroom side of the secret door?  Maybe on of those self contained units like these http://www.realflame.com/?  The classic "bookcase on one side and a fire place on the other" is something I just love, and haven't exactly figured out how to do.

That would be AWESOME!  There was another suggestion that I should paint the back of the bookcase to look like bricks.  LOVE that idea, too!  I bet I could combine the two ideas.  Also, there's a really great link about super-intricate secret doors that BattleAxe posted on here (p. 7).  Here's the link:

Wouldn't you just KILL for a fireplace like that???  And, I've got 3 murder mystery games that I have yet to play that I bought at a garage sale last year.  Next item on the agenda:  HOST A MURDER MYSTERY DINNER!
