I'm moving into a new apartment in July - it's a historic 1920s house renovated into super cute studios. It has something like this in the kitchen:

I asked them to tear it out and make it into a little cupboard, and they said no. So what can I do with it? It's cute, but I don't iron. And it's a tiny apartment, so anyway I could make it functional would be awesome.

Thanks!  Grin

Is there a way to remove the iron temporarily? You could turn the space into a spice wrack if you did it so that you could return it to the original state when you  leave.

I actually have been looking for a fold down ironing board for my crafting / sewing room. What irony! (Pun intended.)

no such thing as too many projects!

Those ironing boards can run up to $400, so I'm not surprised that they said they wouldn't tear it out.  Shocked Put a little tabletop on it and use it for extra fold-out counter space when you need it. Smiley

I know that thing looks crappy now.  I know you say it's too short... lol..

I grew up with one of these, and heard my mom complaining for days to my dad to remove it.  Then she tried it.

Best board EVER!  lol
