I hated my boring Formica cabinets and my green walls.  It just seemed so boring.  However, with basically $0 in pocket because I just closed on my first house, I decided to use paint and $5 tile-sheets-on-Ebay to give my kitchen a makeover.

I love the look of classic, mid-century kitchens and wanted the same for mine.  I'm still missing the hardware, but I'm done for the most part!
