Skaborsk- Thanks!  Nexstitch is an AWESOME website.  It has the clearest video tutorials for crocheting that I've seen.  And shows a bunch of stitches, so it's useful even if you're experienced.  http://www.nexstitch.com/Tutorials.html

ok, you inspired me. i bought the creepy cute book today, and i'm giving it a go tonight! we'll see how it works out......

Yeyy! I had trouble and kept getting stuck but just kept working it out and eventually was successful.  Definitely don't give up if it gets confusing.  Though I still haven't sewn that head on >>

Oh man, he's cute! I bought my first hooks and yarn today and am going to use nexstitch to teach myself to crochet this afternoon...I won't make anything this good, though, I bet! [grin]

When she was good, she was very very good - but when she was bad she was fabulous.

How cute!  I'm starting crochet myself and am anxious to do my first ami.  Thanks for mentioning nexstitch, hadn't heard of them and will definitely have a look for help!

Really cute!
Well, I had done an ami as well and I couldn't figure out how to attach his head. So I cheated (no shame here! Grin) and I subtly glue down his head with some very strong Magna Tac and then wiped off the excess. To hide his neck, I made a makeshift scarf, and it sorta suited him Smiley
